Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) successfully hosted the Manav Rachna Open Basketball Championship 2025, bringing together top young and senior basketball talents from across Northern India. Held at the MREI Basketball Courts, the tournament featured Junior (U-12 & U-14) on January 18-19 and Senior Men’s & Women’s on January 26-27.
With 40 teams and over 400 athletes from Punjab, Delhi, Faridabad, Sonipat, Jind, Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Gurugram, the courts witnessed intense competition. In the Under-12 Girls category, Jhajjar emerged victorious, securing the championship title and a cash prize of ₹10,000, while Jind finished as the runner-up, receiving a cash prize of ₹5,000. SPC Kiloi, Rohtak, clinched the Under-12 Boys title along with a ₹10,000 cash prize, whereas Punjab Warriors took the runner-up spot, earning ₹5,000.
In the Under-14 Girls category, Geetanjali Academy, Sonipat, claimed the championship and a ₹10,000 cash prize, while Jhajjar finished as the runner-up with ₹5,000. The Under-14 Boys final saw Malik Club, Delhi, lifting the trophy and securing ₹10,000, with Faridabad Modern School finishing as runner-up and taking home ₹5,000.
This championship was more than just a contest—it was a platform for young talent to grow, connect, and embrace sportsmanship.
The Senior Men’s and Women’s Tournament featured 30 top teams and over 300 athletes, with renowned teams like MNIT Jaipur, Army Service Corps, NIT Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Ashoka University competing at the highest level.
In the Senior Women’s category, Geetanjali Academy, Sonipat, dominated the court and secured the championship title with a cash prize of ₹21,000, while Delhi Sports Academy finished as the runner-up, earning ₹11,000. The Senior Men’s category saw Army Service Corps (629 ASC) clinching the title and a ₹21,000 cash prize, while Sir Chhotu Ram College fought hard but finished as the runner-up, winning ₹11,000.
The championship set a new benchmark in competitive basketball, fostering talent and passion for the sport.
